Description:

Use this screen to inquire on or change the quantities for a category/classTwo-part classification for individualized and bulk equipment. Rental rates are entered by category/class, and the ID number for bulk items is the category/class ID. in a specific location.

 

Click a link to advance to that section of the topic.

 

 

Navigation

This screen appears after you enter a location and a category/class or an item number on the Category/Class Location Maintenance - Launch screen.  Review the various quantities and make changes where appropriate.  Press Enter to save your changes and exit the program.

 

The system automatically updates the quantities shown on this screen.  Add or update quantities under special circumstances only.

 

To enter information for a particular lot of the category/class, press F7=Lot to return to the Launch screen and enter the lot number.  Entering the lot number takes you to a different version of the Category/Class Location Maintenance screen.

Fields

Location

Displays the location for which you want to review quantities for a category/class.

 

Category

Displays the code of the category you want to inquire on or change.

 

Class

Displays the code of the class you want to inquire on or change.

 

Item Number

Displays the number that is used when entering a category/class on a rental reservation or when entering bulk items on a rental contract.

Quantity on rent

The quantity on rental contracts.  This field is updated via Create Rental, Update Rental, Partial Return, Full Return, or Exchange Equipment.

 

Quantity in transit

The quantity on incoming transfers to this location.  This field is updated via Create, Update, or Receive Transfers.

 

Quantity in inside shop

The quantity inside your shop to be repaired via work orders.  This field is updated with Equipment Status Change, Rental Return (Partial and Full), or Exchange Equipment.

 

Quantity in outside shop

The quantity outside your shop to be repaired.  This field is updated with Equipment Status Change.

 

Quantity missing/stolen/junked

The quantities listed as missing - including stolen or junked equipment.  This field is updated with Equipment Status Change.  Quantities with this status are still considered owned equipment until removed from the system through a sale.  To sell the equipment, its status must first be returned to available (A).

 

Quantity available

The quantity available for rent or sale.

 

Quantity returned

The quantity on closed contracts that has not yet gone through service and been made available for rent.

 

Quantity reserved

The quantity on reservations.  These quantities are updated through Create Rental Reservation/Quote, Update Rental Reservation/Quote, Create Equipment Sale Reservation/Quote, or Update Equipment Sale Reservation/Quote.  This information is also updated when reservations are converted to rental or sales contracts.

 

Quantity floored

The quantity placed on a waiting list.

 

Quantity scheduled for pickup

The quantity listed on pickup tickets.  This field is updated through Partial Return, Full Return, and Pickup Ticket.

 

Quantity on rental purchase

The quantity currently on rental purchases.  This field is updated through Rental Purchase.

 

Rental quantity

The quantity in this category/class that is owned for rental purposes.

Consigned quantity

The quantity of new equipment placed on consignment with your company.

 

New quantity

The quantity of new equipment not yet placed into the Rental quantity.  This is equipment you own, but you have not yet transferred it to your rental inventory.

 

Minimum stocking level

For bulk inventory, the quantity that is the minimum you should have on hand at all times.

 

Quantity transferred out

The quantity transferred out, but not yet received in the destination location.

 

Allow Negative Bulk

Indicate whether you allow bulk inventory at this location to have a negative balance.  Valid values include:

 

Cycle Code

If applicable, enter the code that represents the days in a cycle count duration that equipment in this category/class at this location should be cycle counted.

 

Last Date Cycle Count

Displays the date that equipment in this category/class was last cycle counted.

F1

Help.  Place your cursor in a field and press F1 to access online help for that field.  Place your cursor outside of any field, and press F1 to access online help at the program level.

F3

Exit.  Exit the page or program.

F7

Lot.  Return to the Launch screen to enter a lot number (format:  catclassyyyymm) for the location and category/class.  This puts you in Category/Class Lot Maintenance and allows you to enter quantities and depreciation values for the lot.

F8

Toggle.  Toggle between displaying a category and class for the location or displaying the number that is used when a category/class is on a rental reservation or when entering bulk items on a rental contract.

F10

Depreciation.  For future use.

F11

Work Order History.  For future use.

F12

Cancel/Previous.  Exit the program or move back a screen.
