First
use the Environmental Charge Control Maintenance
program to enter the miscellaneous charge item to use for environmental
charges on your rental contracts, and then use this program to enter the
environmental charge amounts to use by category/class.

Access this screen by entering at least an environmental charge type on the Equipment Environmental Charge Maintenance - Launch screen. Enter a rate type and the appropriate default charges, along with a status for the default charges.

Equipment Environmental Charge Maintenance
Displays the location for which you are setting up default environmental charges for rental contracts.
Displays the type of environmental charges you are setting up. The only valid code as of RentalMan version 11 is R=Rental.
Displays the category/class for which you are setting up environmental charges.

Enter the code for the type of environmental charges you want to default into rental contracts. Valid codes are:
F - Flat. In the Amount field, enter the rate that is charged every time the category/class is rented.
P - Percent. In the Amount field, enter the percentage of the rental amount to charge every time the category/class is rented. Enter 10% as 10.00. You must also complete the Minimum and Maximum fields.
R - Rate. Enter environmental charges as daily, weekly, and monthly rates. The field labels change when you choose this rate type.
If you entered a rate type of F, enter the flat amount for the environmental charge. If you entered a rate type of P, enter the percentage of the rental amount for the environment charge. Enter 10% as 10.00. If you entered a rate type of R, enter the daily flat rate for the environmental charge.
If you entered a rate type of F, enter the flat minimum amount for the environmental charge. If you entered a rate type of P, enter the minimum percentage of the rental amount for the environment charge. Enter 10% as 10.00. If you entered a rate type of R, enter the weekly flat rate for the environmental charge.
If you entered a rate type of F, enter the flat maximum amount for the environmental charge. If you entered a rate type of P, enter the maximum percentage of the rental amount for the environment charge. Enter 10% as 10.00. If you entered a rate type of R, enter the monthly flat rate for the environmental charge.
Enter the current status of the environmental charge. Enter D to deactivate the environmental charge so that it no longer defaults on rental contracts.
