Description:

Use this screen to select an existing location record to maintain or to copy to create a new location.

 

Click a link to advance to that section of the topic.

 

 

Navigation

Access this screen by entering a company on the System Location Maintenance - Launch screen.  Use the filters above the columns to focus the list on the locations you want to work with.  Use the options to work with the locations in various ways.  In order to create a new location, select an existing location that is most like your new location, and enter Option 3 to copy it and use it as a template for the new location.

Options

Option

Edit.  Enter 2 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Address screen.

Copy.  Enter 3 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Extended Information screen to enter new information before designating a new location code.

Change Status.  Enter 4 in the Option field to access the Select Status popup window and change the status of the location.

Display.  Enter 5 in the Option field to advance to a view-only version of the System Location Maintenance - Address screen.

Analysis Information.  Enter 6 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Analysis screen.

7

Billing.  Enter 7 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Billing 1 screen.

Location Defaults.  Enter 8 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Defaults screen.

9

Address Information.  Enter 9 in the Option field to advance to the System Location Maintenance - Address screen.

Fields

Company

Displays the company in which the location is set up.

 

Location

Displays the location code.

 

Status

Displays the current status of the location.  Use Option 4 to change the status.  Valid status codes are:

 

District

Displays the district in which the location was placed.

 

Inventory Region

Displays the region in which the location was placed for inventory purposes.  This is used when viewing quantity on hand for an item or piece of equipment by region.

 

Analysis Region

Displays the region in which the location was placed for analysis purposes.

 

Branch Name/Report Heading

Displays either the name given to the location/branch or the heading for this location on reports.  Use F7 to toggle the column heading.

 

Short Name

Displays the name of the location that will display or print in areas where the full branch name cannot be displayed.

 

Function Keys

F1

Help.  Place your cursor in a field and press F1 to access online help for that field.  Place your cursor outside of any field, and press F1 to access online help at the program level.

F3

Exit.  Exit the page or program.

F7

Toggle Name.  Toggle the Branch Name field to Report Heading.

F11

Unfold.  Hide or display a second line of detail for each location.

F12

Cancel/Previous.  Exit the program or move back a screen.

F19 (Shift + F7)

Print List.  Print the list of locations as displayed on the screen.

F20 (Shift + F8)

Domestic/International.  For future use.

F24 (Shift + F12)

More.  Display more available function keys for the program.
