Use this program to enter the default settings for a stock classCode used to categorize sales items for analysis and reporting. You may choose to make the stock class a subset of the vendor code. at different locations if your stock classes are subsets of your vendors.

Enter default settings for the location and stock class entered on the Launch screen. These settings include, but are not limited to, the primary vendor, normal discount percentage, reorder period, and safety stock.

Displays the location for which you want to make default settings for a stock class.

Enter the branch location where items in this stock class are usually stored. This information is used for the reorder reports, as well as the warehouse pick list. If no warehouse is entered, the warehouse from the system location file defaults into the sales item location file.
Enter the number of the vendor from whom you usually order items in this stock class.
Enter the discount amount that the vendor normally allows for items in this stock class.
Enter the minimum monetary amount that the vendor allows on purchase orders for items in this stock class.
Enter the amount of a purchase order for items in this stock class that qualifies for prepaid freight.
If applicable, enter the number of the first alternate vendor for items in this stock class.
If applicable, enter the number of the second alternate vendor for items in this stock class.
Displays the number of the vendor from which items in this stock class were last purchased.

Enter the number of days of lead time required for ordering items in this stock class.
Enter the number of days of stock to always have on hand for items in this stock class. This is the number of days of stock that you never want to fall below. It provides a safety level of inventory in case your purchase order does not arrive on time.
Enter the optimal number of weeks of stock to have on hand. The system uses this number when Auto Reorder is set to Y, and the average daily usage is calculated based on sales history.
Enter the minimum amount used to calculate the sales price (of items in this stock class) based on the Minimum Cost Multiplier.
Example: This amount
is set to $5.00, and the Minimum
Cost Multiplier is set to 2.
When the cost of an item is $5.00 or less, the sales price for the
item is the cost times 2.
Enter the multiplier to use for calculating the sales price (of items in this stock class) based on the Minimum Cost Amount.
Example: This Minimum
Cost Amount is set to $5.00, and this field is set to 2.
When the cost of an item is $5.00 or less, the sales price for the
item is the cost times 2.
Indicate whether the system automatically calculates the sales price for items in this stock class. If you set this to Y, you must complete the Resale Price Code and the Resale Price Percent fields.
If the Auto Price field is set to Y, enter the code that represents how the system automatically calculates the sales price for items in this stock class. Valid codes are:
L - List price x Resale Price Percent
C - Cost x Resale Price Percent
If the Auto Price field is set to Y, enter the percentage for the system to use in conjunction with the Resale Price Code setting to automatically calculate the sales price for items in this stock class.
Enter the code that represents how you want the system to provide item reorder information. The code is automatically populated from the setting in control record SASCL1, but you can change it. If you set this to N, the system will not calculate reorder quantities. The following codes are valid:
O - Order Point
U - Usage
E - EOQ (Economic Order Quantity)
