Use this screen to set up configuration and specification information for equipment in a category/classTwo-part classification for individualized and bulk equipment. Rental rates are entered by category/class, and the ID number for bulk items is the category/class ID.. If the Upd specs w/feature codes field in control record RAEQM3 is set to Y, when equipment in the category/class is purchased and received, the configuration information becomes part of the equipment's specification file.
To print configuration feature codes and options on purchase orders, set the Print Equip Config field to Y in control record POPRT4.
Click a link to advance to that section of the topic.
Access this screen in CHANGE mode by entering a category/class/sub-class ID and a configuration number on the Equipment Configuration Maintenance - Launch screen. Enter the manufacturer's suggested list price for this configuration.
Enter up to three discount percentages to apply to options or features codes that are entered on the configuration AFTER you enter the discounts. For example, if there are two feature codes for which the vendor does not calculate discounts, enter those two codes on the configuration, and then enter the first discount to apply to feature codes subsequently entered on the configuration. If you enter additional discounts after the first one, and then you enter more feature codes on the configuration, all of the previously entered discounts apply to those codes.
Example: Feature code
4524 is entered on the configuration. Then a discount of 10% is entered, and the next
feature code 8883 is entered. Finally, a second discount of 10% is entered, and the final
feature code 1016 is entered. Feature code 4524 has no discount
applied to it. Feature code 8883 has a 10% discount applied to it.
Feature code 1016 has a 19% discount applied to it. The system
discounts the cost of feature code 1016 by 10%, and then it applies a
10% discount to that discounted cost for a total of a 19% discount off
the original cost.
Press Enter after entering all discounts, and the system calculates this amount and populates the field. You can also enter a net cost or override the calculation; however, it is recommended that you not change this field.
Enter or accept the currency in which this configuration is ordered from the listed vendor.
Displays the calculated total discount applied to the configuration's list price.
Enter the code for an equipment or pricing option you want to add to the configuration. If you do not know the option code enter either 4 or 5 in the column with the heading of O immediately to the left of a blank line to search by either equipment options or by pricing options.
On a blank line, either enter a free-form feature code to add to the configuration, or enter 1, 2, or 3 to search for an existing feature code by make/model/year, or by make/model, or by just make. If you enter a free-form feature code, you must also enter a description and vendor number, and when you save the configuration, the feature code is saved with the make, model, and model year from the header of the configuration, and it can be used in other configurations.
The first
feature code for a configuration should be for the base model of the equipment.
If you are entering a new feature code, enter the feature's description. If you select an existing feature code from the search results using option 1, 2 or 3, the description is populated.
If you are entering a new feature code, enter the number of the vendor that supplies the feature. If you select an existing feature code from the search results using option 1, 2 or 3, the vendor number is populated.
Indicate whether the feature or option is a standard part of the configuration.
