Description:

Use this screen to add a new exchange rate between currencies.  Once the exchange rate has been added, it can be edited only up until it goes into effect.

Access this screen by pressing F6 on the Currency Exchange Rate Maintenance screen.  Enter the exchange rate for the currencies and the date and time that the rate goes into effect.  Press Enter to display the calculations based on your entries.

If the exchange rate does not go into effect immediately, you can edit it from the Currency Exchange Rate Maintenance screen.

Add Currency Exchange Rate

Fields

Base Currency

Displays the base currencyCurrency in which the company operates. Exchange rates are set up between this currency and other currencies for your customers and vendors. of the company you are logged into.

Currency

Displays the code for the currency for which you are setting up exchange rates.

Effective Date

Enter or accept the date on which the exchange rate goes into effect.  Today's date is the default, but you can change it.

Effective Time

Enter or accept the time at which the exchange rate goes into effect on that date.  The current time is the default, but you can change it.

Convert into Base

Enter the amount by which the other currency is multiplied to arrive at the value of the base currency.

Convert from Base

Enter the amount by which the base currency is multiplied to arrive at the value of the other currency.  If you do not want to enter this amount, press Enter after entering the Convert into Base amount, and the system automatically calculates and populates this amount.
