Terms Table Maintenance (Notes Receivable)

Description:

Use this popup window to enter information related to processing notes receivable for this customer.

 

You must have security code Z8W set up in your user profile in order to access this window.

 

Click a link to advance to that section of the topic.

 

 

Navigation

Access this popup window by pressing F21 (Shift + F9) from the Customer Master Maintenance screen.  Enter a notes receivable payment code, and then indicate whether to auto generate notes receivable for the customer and how to generate them.  Also enter notes receivable payment terms or due date codes.  Press Enter twice to save and return to the previous screen.

Fields

Customer Number

Displays the number of the customer for whom you are setting up notes receivable terms information.

 

Payment Code

Enter a notes receivable payment code.  If you do not know the code, press F4 to search for it.

 

Auto Generate

Enter I for Individual if you want the generation of a summary invoice to make all individual invoices included on that summary available for selection in the A/R Cash Receipts program when processing a note receivable.  Enter S for Summary if you want to work with just the summary invoice during note receivable processing in A/R Cash Receipts.

Comment

Enter a brief comment related to the notes receivable settings.

 

Number of Days

If you are not using the Due Date Code for terms, enter the number of days in which the customer’s note receivable is due.  This field works in conjunction with the % (Percentage) field in that you can enter multiple terms days and percentages for the customer that add up to 100%.

 

Example:

Terms set as:

15 days 50%

30 days 25%

90 days 25%

 

The customer is required to pledge a promissory note of 50% of the total invoice due 15 days after invoicing.  Then an additional 25% of the total invoice is due in 30 days, followed by the final 25% due in 90 days.

 

Percentage

Enter the percentage that corresponds with the days entered in the Number of Days field.  See the example for that field for more explanation.

 

Due Date Code

If you didn’t enter information in the Number of Days and Percentage fields, enter the code that defines exactly (even to the specific day of the month) the customer’s terms relative to notes receivable.  If you do not know the code, press F4 to search for it.

Exit.  Exit the page or program.

F12

Cancel/Previous.  Exit the program or move back a screen.

Delete.  Delete the payment code and terms information.
