Description:

Use this program to create and maintain inspection types such as hydraulic inspection, electrical inspection, or engine inspection.  Inspection types are associated with category/classes or equipment via the Inspection Test Maintenance program.

Navigation

Access this screen by entering an inspection type code on the Inspection Type Maintenance - Launch screen.  Add or change inspection steps.  If you need to add a step in between existing steps, change the sequence number on a blank line appropriately; add the step description; and then press F5 to resequence all steps.

Fields

Inspection Type

Displays the code of the inspection type you are creating or maintaining.

 

Inspection Term

Enter the number of days that represents how often this inspection type is performed.

 

Allow to Expand

Indicate whether additional steps can manually be added to this inspection type when an inspection is created.

 

Prolongation

Enter the number of days an inspection can be extended if it has expired.

 

Sequence

Enter or accept the sequence number of the inspection step.  This number indicates the order in which the step is performed.  If you want to add a new step in between existing steps, change the sequence number to a number that falls between the existing steps, and then press F5 to resequence all steps.

 

Test Description

Enter a brief description of the test to be performed.

 

Default

If applicable, enter a default result for the test such as a measurement like 100 Kg.

 

Unit

Enter the unit of measure for the results of the test.  For example, if the test is related to weight, the unit might be LBS or KG.

 

Edit

Indicate whether the unit of measure for the test can be edited during inspection.

 

Text List

Indicate whether additional text has been created for the inspection, and if so,  what is the text list code for the additional text.  Additional text prints on the inspection document.

F1

Help.  Place your cursor in a field and press F1 to access online help for that field.  Place your cursor outside of any field, and press F1 to access online help at the program level.

F3

Exit.  Exit the page or program.

F5

Resequence.  Resequence the inspection steps after new steps have been added in between existing steps.

F12

Cancel/Previous.  Exit the program or move back a screen.

F23 (Shift + F11)

Delete.  Press twice to delete the inspection type.
