Description:

Use this screen to enter or change the technical specifications for an entire category/classTwo-part classification for individualized and bulk equipment. Rental rates are entered by category/class, and the ID number for bulk items is the category/class ID. or for one piece of equipment.

Navigation

Access this screen by entering either a category/class or an equipment number on the Equipment Specifications Maintenance - Launch screen and pressing Enter.  Type the equipment specifications on each numbered line.  If you need to insert new specifications between existing specifications, change the line number on a blank line to a number that falls between the two existing specification numbers; type the new specifications and press Enter.  The program correctly inserts your new specification.  Press F5 to renumber all lines to their original increments of 10.

Fields

Category/Class

Displays the category/class for which you are entering specifications.  If you are entering specifications for a piece of equipment, this field displays the category/class to which that equipment belongs.

 

Equipment Number

If you are entering specifications for a piece of equipment, this field displays the number of that equipment.

 

Make

If you are entering specifications for a piece of equipment, this field displays the manufacturer's make of the equipment.

 

Model

If you are entering specifications for a piece of equipment, this field displays the manufacturer's model of the equipment.

Text Lines

Enter the text for each specification.

 

Line Number

The sequence number for the specification line.  Change this number if you need to insert a new specification between two existing specifications.

 

For instance, if you have specifications for sequences 10 and 20 and you decide that you need a new specification after sequence 10 but before sequence 20, you can change the default sequence of 30 (with no specifications associated with it) to sequence 15 and type a specification on that line.  When you press Enter, the program inserts your new specification in the appropriate order.

F1

Help.  Place your cursor in a field and press F1 to access online help for that field.  Place your cursor outside of any field, and press F1 to access online help at the program level.

F3

Exit.  Exit the page or program.

F5

Renumber.  Renumber all lines to their original increments of 10.

F8

Item Number/Category-Class.  Toggle the screen between displaying the Category/Class fields to displaying the Item Number field.

F12

Cancel/Previous.  Exit the program or move back a screen.

F21 (Shift + F9)

Overlay Specifications from Category/Class.  Advance to the Copy Specifications screen.

F24 (Shift + F12)

More.  Display more available function keys for the program.
