Use this program to create and maintain service mechanic master records.

Access this screen by entering an existing mechanic number on the Mechanic File Maintenance - Launch screen or by pressing F6 from that same screen. Enter details of the mechanic's master record including contact information and billing rates, and then press Enter to save the record. Use F23 (Shift + F11) to delete a mechanic record.

Mechanic File Maintenance
Displays the number of the mechanic whose master record you are creating or maintaining.
Enter the first and last name of the mechanic.
Indicate whether the mechanic performs inside (I) or outside (O) labor.
Enter a one-character user-defined letter or number that represents the level of skill the mechanic has.
Enter a one-character user-defined letter or number that further defines the mechanic's skill level.
If you are using time entry for mechanics, enter one of the following codes:
H - Hourly
S - Salaried
M - Mechanic
If you are not using time entry, this field is user-defined and can be
used to further categorize the mechanic.
Enter or accept the current status of the mechanic. Enter A to indicate the mechanic is active. When you use F23 to delete the mechanic, the status is D.
Enter the location where the mechanic works.
Enter a brief comment regarding the mechanic. This could be more details on the mechanic's skills or the specific types of equipment he/she repairs.
Enter the number of hours the mechanic is available. This is a user-defined field, so you determine whether this is daily, weekly, or monthly availability.
Enter the date the mechanic started with your organization.

Enter the currency in which this mechanic is paid.
Enter the hourly rate at which this mechanic is billed for external work orders.
Enter the hourly rate at which this mechanic is billed for internal work orders.
Enter the mechanic's overtime rate for external billing. This field is informational only.
Enter the mechanic's overtime rate for internal billing. This field is informational only.
If applicable, enter a second rate for the mechanic for informational purposes only.
If applicable, enter a third rate for the mechanic for informational purposes only.
Enter an e-mail address for the mechanic.
